Asian Short Ribs

This one is an absolute banger and it’s so simple! Impress your friends and family with this simple but delicious dish.Â
Ingredients:Â
2 ½ kilograms beef short ribs
Intensify
½ cup oyster sauce
¼ cup kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)Â
¼ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
3 tablespoons black vinegar
6 -8 cloves garlic chopped finely
2 cups water
2 cinnamon sticks
2 whole star anise
2-3cm piece of roughly sliced ginger
Method:Â
1) Trim the fat and silver skin off the short ribs and season ribs.
2) Mix all of the other ingredients in a bowl.Â
3) Place your ribs meat side down in a large heavy based pot (oven safe)Â
4) pour the sauce over the top and place baking sheet on top.Â
5) Place the pot into the oven on 150c for 2-3 hours (or until the ribs are around 210f or 98cÂ
6) Remove the ribs from the pot and train the sauce.Â
7) Remove the fat from the liquid (check out website for our fat separators)
8) Add some cornflour and water mix if you’d like to make the sauce thicker and out onto the stove and bring to the boil.Â
9) Serve with rice and Asian greens.Â
